Genteel & Bard - A Legacy of Southern Story

Genteel & Bard is a celebration of Savannah. Its rich, deep history. Its folklore. Its people.

Founded the summer of 2016 in Savannah, Ga in the quaint sunroom of a nineteenth-century townhouse, Genteel & Bard has had the opportunity to make thousands and thousands of guests feel like family. Started as a two-person operation by husband and wife founders, T.C. and Brenna Michaels, the little family-owned company now helps support twelve households and seven beautiful children.

Every Genteel & Bard tour is led by a seasoned public historian host and features the etiquette and classical storytelling style that has made Genteel & Bard a favorite among discerning travelers and adventurous families for years now.

Discuss the history of scandalous royal governors, the brutal realities of oft-fabled pirate codes, the fascinating and mysterious hoodoo culture of the low country, and come face to face with haunted locations on our critically acclaimed ghost tours.

Experience genteel southern tradition, learn the influences of the Gullah, be inspired by indigenous strategy and courage, and feel more connected to the Southern American past than ever before on our Genteel & Bard History Tours.

Guests of Genteel & Bard are guaranteed unique and exciting tour experiences that range from the inspiring to the terrifying. We do it all. We tell all. And we love every charming bit of it.

Welcome, y’all. Have we got a story to tell. Let’s walk a while.
