Indulge in Self-Care, Savannah-Style

Whether you’re coming to Savannah to relax and unwind, or to hit the bricks and explore every historic nook and cranny of our beautiful city, Savannah has no shortage of ways to pause and de-stress - here’s a list of self care activities you can’t miss!

Nourish on West Broughton

Mosey down our stunning Broughton shopping district to find this local, family-owned self care shop! Nourish has all natural handmade products for everyone. Shampoo and conditioner bars caress your hair to give you that soft, southern-belle look while bath bombs and locally scented candles help you to unwind from a long day of exploring the city. They also have a broad selection of handmade soaps, which helped them establish their name within the city! My personal favorite is the array of salt and sugar scrubs with matching scents to the rest of their products-including their all natural skincare line!

Salacia Salts on Montgomery Street

While we’re on the topic of unique bath products, take a look at Salacia Salts! This shop has taken inspiration from the South and the Sea to give us uniquely scented salt scrubs, candles, lotions, and more! Their main store also features a guided blending bar so you can customize your scrub with whatever essential oils and ingredients you’d like! Salacia Salts is also perfect for a girls’ weekend or a bachelorette party, as they offer two different workshops where you and your group can learn in-depth about the salt scrub making process as well as a clay mask process, so you can take home a delightfully-scented memory!

Yoga in Forsyth Park

Join a free yoga session in Forsyth Park with Meg Shuba Yoga! Forsyth Park truly is the gem of Savannah, it’s perfect for a relaxing yoga class. Stretch and relax under giant live oak trees, and bask in the ambiance of our famous historic fountain! Be sure to grab a latte after class at the nearby Collins Quarter Cafe! Find the latest class schedule here.

Meditate with the Honey Bees

Savannah Bee Company offers the experience of a lifetime- previously only seen in Europe, they have an onsite Bee Therapy Hut! Step into this wooden hut and take a seat on the long bench inside, built over open-top beehives! Don’t worry about being stung, there is a mesh in place that guides the bees in and out of the hives through the back of the hut. Simply bask in the aroma of honey, flower nectar, and cedarwood as the gentle buzzing of bees at 430-530 hz lulls you into a state of deep relaxation. While this experience is season-dependent, it is certainly worth planning a trip around! And if bee-hut isn’t quite your thing, make sure you visit their shop on Broughton Street!

People Watch in the Squares

This may not be as glamorous as meditating with bees or creating your own salt scrub, but it has certainly saved me from many stress-induced Amazon shopping sprees! Sit on a Forrest-Gump-esque wooden bench among beautiful, lush azaleas and shady live oaks as you watch life unfold around you. One of my favorite squares to sit in is Oglethorpe Square because many of the benches are more secluded, and perfect for an afternoon snack. Oglethorpe Square is also where Genteel & Bard Ghost Tours begin! However, if you’d like to sit in on Savannah’s vibrant and artistic culture, head down to Reynolds Square. Watch the lights of Lucas Theatre flash and glow in the square, and listen to the melodic tunes of Savannah’s favorite saxophone player, Mr. Maynor. His songs are beautiful, and he is one of the sweetest people in Savannah!
