Pure Savannah - “Hey y’all” - "{Insert Compliment Here.}"

"Savannah is home. This is home for those who check on each other after storms. Home for those who pray for each other. We'll look you in the eye, and smile, and ask, “How are you?” And then we listen." T.C. Michaels | Genteel & Bard Fine Savannah Walking Tours | genteelandbard.com

First comes a smile, followed by a shake of the hands, and a “hey y’all” - "{insert compliment here.}"

“How are you?”

This is Savannah. If we're asking, we really care how you're doing.

With thousands of daily visitors here to the Hostess City, a normal exchange between local Savannahians is a beautiful thing.

We locals, we can tell another local from a visitor. It's got to do with the pace, the relaxed look on the face - it's a familiarity. We love to walk down Broughton Street and pass a friend, bump into someone who knows our name. And it happens a lot.

I especially enjoy running into friends while giving tours - sharing this daily life experience with our guests. It’s pure Savannah.

Savannah isn’t just a city of parks, squares, history, church on Sunday and rowdy public drinking.

Savannah is home.

This is home for those who check on each other after storms. Home for those who pray for each other. We'll look you in the eye, and smile, and ask, “How are you?”

And then we listen.
