Vegan, Vegetarian, and Gluten-Free Restaurants in Savannah
Sometimes the most stressful part of traveling with dietary restrictions is finding fun and unique restaurants that have delicious options! Luckily, in Savannah, there are a plethora of mouth-watering restaurants that serve everyone from the voracious vegetarian to the gluten-free foodie- here are our top picks for vegan and gluten-free restaurants in Savannah!
Flying Monk Noodle Bar (Asian Comfort)
The Flying Monk Noodle Bar is a chic and trendy asian comfort food restaurant on Broughton Street. It has a little something for everyone, and the best part is: it’s all delicious!
Most (not all) of the dishes on the menu can be made gluten-free on request - simply by substituting with potato or rice noodles and opting out of certain sauces.
Their most popular gluten-free dishes are the chicken and rice bowl from Laos or the Singapore Noodles.
The Singapore Noodles are also vegan and vegetarian, so you can’t go wrong!
Other popular dishes among vegans and vegetarians are the Buddha Noodles. Even for those without dietary restrictions, this fresh and healthy menu item is a go-to!
Kayak Kafe on Broughton Street (American)
This sporty cafe on Broughton Street has a little something for everybody- including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free foodies. Our favorite part about this restaurant is the spin they put on traditional non-vegan and veggie foods, like their scrumptious Harvest Lentil Burger. They even have a taco bowl that’s vegan, vegetarian, AND gluten free!
Everything at this restaurant is an adventure for your taste buds, and it’s all reasonably priced. Every sandwich can be handmade to be gluten free as well, so you can enjoy everything the menu has to offer!
NaaN on Broughton (Authentic Indian)
This cozy Indian restaurant is the peak of cultural comfort food, and it’s one of the most diet-conscious restaurants in Savannah! Their masala is to die for, and best of all, each one of their masalas is both gluten-free AND vegetarian!
They also have incredible paneer that will make your stomach growl as soon as it comes to your table- all gluten free and vegetarian! While they do have many vegan options as well, they are not as clearly marked, so make sure you ask when you order!
FOX & FIG CAFE (GOURMET VEGAN)
A local favorite, the Fox & Fig Cafe is one of the most green and ethically-conscious restaurants in the city. Located on Habersham Street, this quiet and cozy cafe is sure to amaze-the whole menu is vegan! Their Plant Food Picnic is popular among vegetarian visitors as well as gluten free diners.
The star of the show, however, is the Fox Burger. Completely handmade, vegan, vegetarian, with the option for a gluten-free bun; the Fox Burger is a MUST if you’re dining in Savannah. Finish your meal with their carefully crafted gluten free treats, and you’ve officially met the piece de resistance of Savannah cuisine!
GREEN TRUCK NEIGHBORHOOD PUB (AMERICAN)
This is actually my mother’s favorite restaurant in Savannah, and the “Judy Seal of Approval” is the most trusted in the universe! Located on Habersham Street, this star restaurant serves burgers, salads, and soups; you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose! Each menu item is handmade, down to the pimento cheese! They make an absolutely glorious vegan burger and chili- it’s won awards for almost 8 years in a row!
Each of their burgers can be substituted out with a homemade gluten free bun, so nobody is left out of the absolute perfection that is served in this restaurant.
