A Guide to Savannah's City Market

City Market is one of the greatest places in Savannah. Always bumbling with happy visitors, creative street artists on every corner- its liveliness is contagious! We’ve put together a list of all of the best places in City Market- there’s so much to do you could seriously spend the whole day there without running out of things to do!

For brunch, head across Ellis Square and get a table at the Little Duck Diner! A trendy and chic local favorite; this diner will give you the energy you need to explore the city! Try the french toast or even the gourmet chicken and waffles- you can’t go wrong with either! Also, you’re on Savannah time! Go ahead and order the savory and refreshing Bloody Mary this diner is famous for- we won’t tell!

After brunch, you MUST go to the Art Center at City Market! It’s a stunning art gallery featuring the works of Savannah’s best local artists. It’s truly an experience to wander through halls of different mediums that all tell the story of Savannah. It’s the perfect way for visitors to appreciate art as the heartbeat of the city!

For lunch, make a stop in Savannah’s smallest pub! The Little Crown Pie Society may not offer much by way of floor space, but it more than makes up for it with mouthwatering and delicious pies! Chicken pot pie, meat pies, pasties- everything is made with love and is truly the best of Southern comfort foods! While you're there, you should also order some of their many shortbread desserts! It’s the perfect finish to a perfect meal.

When in City Market, your visit is not complete until you visit the American Prohibition Museum! Historically dressed docents will happily lead you through the museum in the basement of the building, which details life in Savannah through the Prohibition Era. When you’re through, you can either shop to your heart’s content at the gift shop on the main floor, or get yourself a Prohibition-inspired cocktail at the speakeasy hidden somewhere in the museum! (We could tell you where it is, but then it wouldn’t be a speakeasy!)

End your day in City Market with a fine-dining experience at Belford’s Seafood and Steak. Their award-winning chef will spoil your taste buds with flavors of the South- shrimp and grits, lump crab cakes, and seafood frittata! They also have a beautiful cocktail menu, which features Savannah-inspired cocktails that will compliment whatever dish you order!
